Dear Government or People Who Own Machines That Can Transport Water

Dear Government or People Who Own Machines That Can Transport Water,

So we are having Armageddon all OVER the US. Flooding in Minot, Fires in the South…raging heat waves in the East…etc. Meaning we’ll probably all die in 2012 like the predictions say. But I have a solution for the flooding AND the fires and drought. Come on government…do I have to do EVERYTHING for you?

This is what you do. Take machines that can suck up all of the water in Minot where there is flooding, transport said water to fires and places where there is drought. Spray water at fires, hopefully they go out. Place water in drought areas so there is no longer a drought. Simple huh? That way you take care of THREE problems US. Three. That’s way better then the whole two birds with one stone. Its THREE birds with water.

I know I’m crazy and there must be some logical reason why they don’t do this. But really? Why not? Has anyone else thought of this besides me? And if so, why are you not doing it? You don’t have to give the water to people to drink! Just take out the fires and the drought! I just don’t understand.
That’s my two cents. I’m sorry for the people who live in Minot and the areas of fire and drought. I feel sorry for all of the animals as well. They need the water too Government.

That is all.

Brussel Sprouts are actually Tiny Robert Downy Jr Aliens Trying to Take Over the World

That’s right. Brussel sprouts are aliens. Tiny ones who are trying to take over the world slowly…apparently like Robert Downy Jr. Except I don’t really get that part?
What am I talking about you ask? Well, I’ll tell you. I have a friend on Facebook who is an amazing artist. Y’all should check him out. Jameshance.com he does cool Star wars/Muppets/Winnie The Pooh things. They are actually very cool and I own quite a few of his prints.

Well he has a daughter and bought broccoli to feed her. He fed her half of the broccoli and then forgot about the rest in his fridge and now apparently his fridge smells awful! Because the broccoli died. Well, I actually have a bag of brussel sprouts from TWO months ago in my fridge…and they are still good.

I don’t understand how they can still be good. So, since I am weird and quirky I’ve decided that brussel sprouts are actually TINY ALIENS COME TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD. Starting with my fridge of course. I posted this on his little Facebook post and someone commented on how brussel sprouts that take of the world are actually like tiny Robert Downy Jrs…apparently he tries to take over the world. Who knows.

I thought it was funny and I thought I’d blog about it. We could all use more brussel sprouts in our lives and make sure to make them with bacon because the aliens like bacon.

On another note, I just found a box from Costco that contained none other then small tomoatoes…and I bought them AT THE SAME TIME as the sprouts. They were NOT in the fridge and they are still GOOD! How can that be? They lived in the house during the great air conditioning break down. I think Costco must be the mother ship of the fruits and veggies taking over the planet.

PS. I am not crazy. This post may be a bit crazy. But its zazzy! Don’t you think its zazzy?

Fairy Tales: The Geek In Me

Fairy Tales: The Geek In Me: "I guess you could call me a Superhero newbie. I know the movie sides of the Comics but not the Comic sides of Comics. Its just something tha..."

The Geek In Me

I guess you could call me a Superhero newbie. I know the movie sides of the Comics but not the Comic sides of Comics. Its just something that I am going to have to learn about. Especially if my future requires that I have a basic knowledge of the Comic book world.

But really this post is about my Geek/Nerd Status. I don’t really know which category you should put me in, one of my friends gave me a great definition of what they both were and pretty much informed me that I was neither. He lies. I am one of them at least.

It started when I was 3 months old. That’s right, I said 3 months. My parents took me to see Return of The Jedi. After that I rejected anything Star wars, alien, goofy weird thing for the next decade at least. I only renewed my love of Star Wars and all things Sci-fi when George Lucas re-introduced Star Wars to a younger Audience. I walked into A New Hope with my mother, we were late and I carried my large popcorn JUST as the music made its amazing crescendo and STAR WARS was thrown up on the screen. Lets just say I’ve been hooked ever since.

Life just got better for me after that, as far as Sci-Fi and Fantasy related material came at me with amazing speed. I just couldn’t get enough of it! I also learned to love the other side of the Sci-Fi spectrum. Meaning the more dark side, the underbelly. Like Blade. I was a weird Teenager, but I didn’t care. I even learned the Star wars language. Yup. I said it. I sadly do not remember it now or I would put it on my resume. Shouldn’t we ALL know how to write and read the SW language? I think so.
So lately in the past few years we have been bombarded with new Superhero, Comic book movies. Batman anyone? Yes please. Iron Man? Of COURSE! Last night I went to see the midnight showing of Green Lantern. I am a girl still I might add, and Ryan Reynolds is one of my four muses that I use when I write. Meaning, I come up with a character and pretend they look like him or 3 other guys. That way I have a better picture in my head how I want this character to be.

Let me get back to it. I went to see the movie last night. It wasn’t perfect. It got a little campy at times, but all in all I enjoyed the overall tones of what it had to offer. Ryan was funny and endearing. Blake was beautiful and slightly annoying when she got on her high horse. I loved his friend the nerdy boy. I even liked all of the other Green Lanterns. Did you know Geoffry Rush was in it? He was! I wont give anything away, but I do hope they make a second one. It would be fun to see how they continue to grow his character.

But so far my favorite movie of the summer has been Thor, with Super 8 and X-Men First Class tying for second. Thor was AWESOME. They have GOT to make a second one…WITH Natalie. Not the Avengers, I am excited about it. But I need Thor to find his girl again! As for X-Men, one word: James McAvoy as Charles. Yes please! I would watch anything he was in. I hope Abrams finds a spot for him in the new Star Trek because apparently his is a super Star Trek nerd. And finally Super 8. Those boys, especially Joe…I would love to adopt him as my little brother and do anything and everything with him. He’s adorable and I loved that movie.

The future movies to come that I can’t wait to see: Transformers *people, come on. Don’t make fun of me. I have an Autobot tattoo. Of COURSE I’m excited to see it*; Harry Potter…OMG! Have you seen the new preview? It makes me cry just watching it! Those are at the top of my list. There are others of course…but I am a movie Geek, so don’t judge me.

My Bakery

WOW! Two posts in a day. WHO KNEW!?
This post is mostly for myself. Its so I can get my thoughts in order.
As those of you who read my blog…the four of you! Which I love you btw! You know I have a future plan to open a Bakery. Only one of you have figured out what it will all be about.
But what you don’t know if that I plan to have two special days out of the week.
1. In honor of the women and men in the military/air force/etc…I will have one day where if you served…you get a treat for free. And if you donate, you get a treat for free. Kinda like: I baked this item, pay what you think its worth and the proceeds go to the men and women who keep us safe every day.
2. Pets. I have two cats. I want to bake treats for dogs and cats and other animals eventually. But for now you come and buy a certain item, say a frosted cookie, the proceeds of that cookie go to help different charities that help animals.
3. Anything that tickles my fancy. Because I feel like I’m a good person and I have need to help those who need the help.
So that’s my little rant. Hope you don’t mind!

Don’t Open The Door

So I used to live in Alaska before I moved to the East Coast. Its very different up there, during the winter you only get about 5-6 hours of light *which sucks for most everybody because you go to work/school when its dark and come home when its dark* or in the summer you only get about 5-6 hours of darkness. Land of the Midnight Sun we truly are. Its also colder for a lot longer, though here in DC with the damned wind you would THINK it was colder then Alaska. It takes you about 20 min to get anywhere in Anchorage…here it takes 20 min to just go 5 miles. They have Bears Tooth which is my favorite restaurant of ALL TIME. And sadly nothing…and I really mean nothing compares to it here in DC. Plus they have Hot Dog on a Stick up there…no one sells corndogs here that I have seen. I need my corndogs Y’all! But I came here for school and so here I shall stay for the time being.

That’s not the point of this post. In Alaska I would pretty much always answer my front door. I’m not saying there was almost no break-ins or hold ups or crime. There was plenty. Just not where I lived. And here in DC where I live there isn’t much crime either. The worst thing that normally happens is there is a corner I like to call Crash Central, and my house is right next to it. I’ve had to call the cops countless times because people crash into eachother. So far…no one has died. *knock on wood*

But here…I don’t answer the door and I actually don’t answer my phone. The reason I don’t answer the door here is mostly because so many people walk around and try to get me to buy/sign/learn/covert to their god/you want to eat my brains…etc. So I wont answer the door because I don’t want any of those things. I don’t want to listen to you blabber on about being a Politician, about the religion you want me to join, about the cleaning product you want to sell, about how you want to eat my brains and turn me into a zombie as well…etc. And as for the phone…apparently my phone number belonged to many a crazy person. For about 3 weeks I had one guy calling me EVERY TWENTY minutes. It was crazy. So yeah…here on the East Coast I don’t answer the door.

In other news I am looking forward to Green Lantern *I have green streak in my hair in his honor*. I made caramel cupcakes and I don’t want to mow the lawn.

Its Sunny Out But I Just Don't Care!

I like my weather on the rainy side. I know its weird, but I do! I like clouds, I like rain, I LOVE Thunder and lightening. I feel badly for all of those who have suffered at Weathers hand as of late. But still, one of the things on my bucket list is to:

1.See a Tornado
2.Be inside the middle of a hurricane

There are other weird weather things I would love to enjoy...from a safe distance. But I love me some crazy weather. We've recently been told that there are "Thunderstorm Warnings" and what do I get? Sunny weather. Its sucks! I need my rain! I need my thunder! I need my lightening!

Alright, I've had my rant. More to come later this week.

PS. Now I'm going to go make Tasty roasted potatoes!

Fairy Tales: The Culinary Edition

Fairy Tales: The Culinary Edition: "This will be my first post about my Culinary Experiences. I do hope that you enjoy it. Today was the last day of European Cakes and Tortes..."

The Culinary Edition

This will be my first post about my Culinary Experiences. I do hope that you enjoy it.

Today was the last day of European Cakes and Tortes class. It was amazing. Almost all of the cakes were fantastic, and almost all of the cakes were fun to make. Here are a few of my favorites. Starting with my final cake:

Pirate Pina Colada:

This cake consists of a Golden Chiffon Cake, pineapple mousse, coconut creme brulee insert, Pate Decor with blue waves piped on and pineapple Gelee. Plus the chocolate shells and pirate ship. It was super tasty, but the pineapple was lacking in flavor.

Raspberry Mousse Cake:

Chocolate Chiffon cake, raspberry mousse and raspberry gelee. It was sinfully awesome! But I also love me some raspberries.

St.Honore *sp?* Cake:

Just full of creamy goodness.

I'm only putting up three, but we made about a million I think. It was a fantastic class. Super annoying to have to get up at 4am every Wed and Thur for 3 months though. Next quarter I'm taking Fancy Cakes and Chocolates. Two different classes I might add. And then two other boring classes I'm sure no one wants to read about.

What are my Culinary Goals in Life you ask? I'll tell you this: You don't get to know till they come true. I just recently realized what I wanted to do and for all of you geeks and nerds out there...our time has come. Thats the only hint you will get. So far only four people besides myself know of my idea. Its super top secret and I hope one day you'll be able to enjoy what I will have to offer. Until then though, you can ask all you want but I'm not telling! Unless you have something to offer. :-D

In other news its hot as hell outside again. The air conditioning works though so life is good. Tomorrow I plan to see Super 8 which I cannot WAIT for and then the following week is Green Lantern. Which I tried to dye my bangs green in honor of Sexy Green Lantern boys...but sadly it didn't work out that well. There is green...but not Green Lantern Green. Sigh.

How are you starting your summer?

Getting my Summer TV shows on!

Big Bang is over for the season...sigh. No more Sheldon for 3-4 months. I of course am in denial. Glee is over for the season. No more Rachel and Kurt. At least I have their songs to get me through the long hot summer days. They aren't bringing V back. Which is sad, because it was FINALLY getting good *I'm a fan of the old TV movies* and it was finally living up to those story lines. Of course there are others that have finished for the summer months. But those first 2 are the ones I will miss the most...

On the OTHER hand...we have some AMAZING shows to come. Sadly most of them don't start until the end of this month, the beginning of next month. Thankfully Game of Thrones is on until then. What am I waiting for you ask?

1. True Blood. DUH! I mean, I am a HUGE fan of the books. I love them to death. I am a HUGE fan of Eric and Sookie and Pam and Jessica. I could leave Tara, and Alicide, Bill is to brooding but I have nothing against Bill in the show. Its just Bill in general who annoys me. But this season. The season of the Witch *which I know they will screw up* also gives us a hulking-lost-mind-wonderful-Eric. And the beginning of Sookie's love for him. HAZAA!

2. Eureka! EEP! The new preview has me FREAKING out! Who are those two blonde women walking down the street!? I loved last season, I LOVE the characters and of course...I love my Fargo *I need to have some geeky-nerd in my life all year round. Winter and fall-Sheldon; Summer-Fargo. I sadly have no spring Geek. :-(* July cannot come soon enough. Oh and Lupo and Zane better get back together because they are one HOT couple! <3

3. Warehouse 13! Let me start off by saying this. Fargo had better be gettin' his skinny little butt back to 13 for a crossover with Claudia because they are ADORABLE! I still have BOTH crossover episodes DVR'd and watch them at least once a month. On another note...WHY is Myka leaving and freaking out? I need my Myka/Pete action! They are such brother and sister characters. Sigh.

4. Falling Skies-New tv show...but you put Noah Wyle and Steven Spielberg together and you have gold. I love how Spielberg picks someone *always boys...dude give a GIRL a break for once* and they become their "Golden Child" It happened with Harrison Ford, Shia LaBouf and now Noah. I cannot wait for this show. It looks so awesome!

There are others. Covert Affairs, Drop Dead Diva...and then a few other new ones. Fall season will be awesome though.

On another note, finally have cool air back! Hazaa!
